Assignment
One marked card among N. Scratch to see who pays, drives, or presents — with a reality-TV spotlight on the final two survivors.
Who pays · who drivesIn beta on TestFlight · App Store launch soon
FateCard is a social scratch-card decision game for iPhone. Who pays, where to eat, who drives — every group decision becomes a 30-second ceremony: metallic foil under your finger, real haptics, a synced 3-2-1 countdown, and a reveal the whole table watches together.
Free to play. No account. Works offline at a real table.
Why scratch?
Spinner apps and coin flips resolve a group decision instantly — and nobody remembers it. Groups don't want speed; they want drama, ritual, and a shared moment. FateCard slows fate down just enough to make it an event.
Metallic foil scratches off under your finger with haptic texture that follows your stroke. It glints. It resists. It flakes. The ceremony is sacred — feel, sound, and reveal choreography get the same engineering care as everything else.
Everyone scratches on the same countdown. Orchestrated reveals, a reality-TV spotlight on the final two, confetti when fate lands. Thirty seconds of suspense beats two seconds of shrug.
About 1 in 200 cards is golden. When one turns up mid-scratch, the table erupts — and that card lives forever in your Hall of Fame.
Six ways to tempt fate
From “who's buying?” to Secret Santa, every mode is a full ceremony — foil, countdown, reveal.

Who pays · who drivesOne shared card binds everyone — dinner spot, movie, plan. Hate the result? Burn it with a veto token and scratch again.

Anyone can claim their randomizer is fair. FateCard proves it, with the same commit–reveal technique used in cryptography — explained here without the math degree:
The moment the game starts, the outcome is locked into a SHA-256 fingerprint — like a photo of the answer in a locked box — and shown on screen: 1fd0bd55
Countdown, foil, suspense. Nothing about the outcome can change now — not by us, not by the host, not by anyone.
After the reveal, the box is opened and your iPhone checks that the result matches the seal. That's the green Verified fair badge on every result.
The pledge: outcomes, odds, and rerolls are never for sale. Not in Foil+, not in packs, not ever. If money could tilt the foil, the ceremony would mean nothing.
Built for a real table
FateCard was designed for the moment the bill hits the table — not for six people fumbling with six downloads.
The morning after
Make a Crew with your regulars and every game writes history. The foil never forgets — and neither does the group chat.
Losses persist as debts — “Sam owes dinner” — until they're settled in the real world. Settle up, mark it paid, start fresh.
Win rates, loss streaks, most-marked player of the month. Your crew's whole mythology, tracked.
Golden cards (~0.5%) are permanent. Every one your crew ever finds is enshrined forever, with who, when, and what was at stake.
A majority can pardon a loser and re-scratch. Mercy is granted by the table, never purchased — it wouldn't be mercy otherwise.
Foil+
The free tier is the complete game — every mode, every ceremony, the same golden-card odds as everyone else. Foil+ is for people who want their fate dressed better.
$0 forever

Foil+ buys flair, never fairness. Outcomes, odds, and rerolls are not for sale — at any price.
Optional card packs for Draw mode: Couples, Road Trip, and Extreme Dares (17+) at $0.99 each. Party Starter, Office-Safe, and Secret Santa packs are free.
Questions
No. Nothing is wagered and nothing can be cashed out. FateCard is a party game that settles decisions your group already agreed to settle — who pays, who drives, where to eat. There are no stakes beyond the ones your table invents, and odds, outcomes, and rerolls are never for sale.
Every game uses commit–reveal fairness. Before anyone scratches, the assignment is sealed into a SHA-256 commitment and shown on screen. After the reveal, the app opens the seal and verifies on your device that the outcome matches what was locked in. Nobody — including us — can change the result after the countdown starts.
Yes, it works offline, and no account is needed. Single-device party mode is built for a real table: pass one iPhone around or scratch together with up to six fingers at once. No sign-up, no network, no waiting.
Roughly 1 in 200 cards (~0.5%) is golden. Finding one is a table-wide event, and every golden card you ever find lives forever in your Hall of Fame. The odds are identical for everyone and can never be bought.
The free tier is the complete game: all six modes, party mode, provably fair draws, and golden cards. Foil+ ($2.99/month or $19.99/year) adds premium foil finishes, unlimited AI-generated decks, golden frames, and full history. Optional card packs are $0.99. Paying buys flair, never fairness.
